I’m Sarah, welcome to my blog.
My background in veterinary medicine informs most of my interests, and was the direction I decided on from an early age. My student days in Edinburgh were a world away from my childhood and school experiences growing up on the Hebridean Island of Mull, but animals and nature were the thread that ran through it all.
As a new graduate I worked for several years in clinical practice; my subsequent adventures included a PhD and a post-graduate qualification in conservation medicine. I am now a freelance nature and science writer based in the UK. Working from home allows me to care for my children, and I take every opportunity to immerse them the natural world.
I am passionate about wildlife, nature, conservation and environmental issues and I will be writing widely on these and related topics. I strongly believe that engaging everyone with the natural world is essential and I will be sharing more about this in the blog, including how to introduce nature to the kids in your life. I hope you enjoy the time you spend here.
I am available to hire to collaborate on various projects. Contact me to discuss how we can work together.
